metronome, tuner, assistants, etc.
- Guitar Tracks
Pro (www.cakewalk.com)
- Multitrack "portable
studio" interface with the benefits of PC-based, digital recording
and editing. Tools include a 32-track digital recorder; a guitar amp
simulator; high-quality effects; a software-based drum loop generator;
a chromatic-tuner; and a complete drum loop library. You can get started
with any guitar or microphone and the PC you already own - no expensive
hardware required
- Sound Forge

- Two-track digital
audio editor. Includes a powerful set of audio processes, tools, and
effects for manipulating audio
- Vegas (www.sonicfoundry.com)
- Digital video editing
system that was originally released as a multi-track audio editing system.
Even though it is now marketed as a video software, it can still be
used for multi-track audio-only creation and editing
- ACID Express

- Free, downloadable
version of ACID, a loop-based music creation tool that allows you to
produce original, royalty-free multitrack music
- Reason (www.propellerhead.se)
- Software synthesizer,
sampler, drum machine, ReCycle!-based loop player, mixer, effects, pattern
sequencer, and more. As many of each as your computer can handle. Reason
is an infinitely expandable MIDI studio on a CD-ROM, complete with its
own realtime sequencer
