"The "Long Island" in the festival title clearly refers to its location and origins, rather than to its scope." – New York Times, March 2014

Welcome to the Long Island Guitar Festival Web site.
Ecletic and International, the 29th Long Island Guitar Festival will take place March 19 to 21, 2021. Due to the pandemic this year's festival will be virtual, presenting video concerts and live and recorded workshops and classes.
In addition to concerts, lectures and demonstrations, the Long Island Guitar Festival usually includes our National High School Classical Guitar Competition, the LIGF Orchestra, Master Classes for Guitarists and Performers, and Ensemble Showcases. Because of the pandemic we will not be able to present many of our usual offerings.
We are hoping to be live next year celebrating our 30th anniversary. We intend to have some special events. We would like to thank everyone from around the globe for all your on going support and encouragement.
The 28th Long Island Guitar Festival was scheduled to take place March 31 to April 5, 2020 but was canceled due to the pandemic. Scheduled performers and participants included Grammy Award winner David Russell (first Long Island appearance), Beijing Guitar Duo, Jérémy Jouve, Yenne Lee, Evan Taucher and the Olson/De Cari Duo.
In addition scheduled events included Damon Smallman & Ingrid Riollot presenting a lecture/demonstration about The History and Design of "Smallman Guitars", Evan Taucher lecturing on Creating and Building an Online Presence: Leveraging Social Media, and Harris Becker was to give a workshop on Exploring the Score – Techniques for Practice.
