Due to the pandemic this year's festival will be virtual
As part of a continued commitment to excellence in guitar performace and pedagogy, throughout our history the Long Island Guitar Festival has featured high school guitar ensembles in our Ensemble Showcases. The purpose of these showcases has been to give young guitarists the opportunity to perform as well as take advantage of the learning opportunities the festival has to offer. Through the years these showcases have featured ensembles representing high schools from the tri-state area and other states including Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.
This year's virtual festival will include an Ensemble Showcase Video Concert featuring guitar ensembles from Freedom High School (Orlando, FL), Bishop McGuiness High School (Kernersville, NC), Susan Wagner High School (Staten Island, NY), Metropolitan Guitar Academy (New York, NY) and Brentwood High School (Brentwood, NY) .
High School Guitar Ensemble Directors: if your ensemble has a performance video that we could include in this year's festival, please email us at LIGFestival@aol.com or call 516-299-3181.
